I had the opportunity yesterday to interview the famous Alexander Lukashenko, newly "elected" in Minsk, Belarus. This is the last dictator in Europe and in addition, he is a Communist!

AL: It's a rumor, it is true that we share and our arms fair is very popular, but it is simply a clearinghouse for which our citizens are better off, because for them that we have created such a thing as this activity generates a lot of revenue for the country and as our arms sales are managed by a Crown corporation ...
LV: What do you answer people who accuse you of tampering with weapons in places like Darfur, Somalia and arming of rogue states like North Korea and Iran?
AL: We support democracy ostracized by imperialist regimes in the pay of the Americans, we support the military program in Iran. We are not ready to support North Korea, China alone is foolish enough to want Kim Yong-Il (and protégé Jong-A) as an ally. We will not accept blame for supplying arms to regimes kept in check by Washington, because they dared to question the omnipotence of the latter. We carry our weapons for the sake of democracy.
